School Ethos & Mission Statement The School is striving to develop a friendly, happy and caring atmosphere in which the children can learn. Our mission statement is “we care.” The staff are expected to promote and develop this caring approach within their own class and throughout the school.

The way we operate and behave should be an example and a role model for the children. Our aim is to develop a positive and supportive approach.

For this to be really successful we will need to be committed to this approach.

The School will:

Encourage and support the children to do their best at all times.

Encourage the children to strive towards high achievements in all aspects, through setting high standards.

Encourage high expectations.

Encourage children to take care of their surroundings.

Encourage a caring attitude.

Inform parents of the children’s progress at regular meetings.

Inform parents of the type and scope of work to be taught each term.

Give appropriate homework to all children on a regular basis.


Together we will:

Encourage the children to keep the School Rules.

Support the children’s learning to help them achieve their full potential.

Deal with any special needs.

Encourage the children to treat each other with respect.


The Family will:

Make sure your child arrives at school on time. School starts at 8.55 a.m.

Make sure your child attends regularly and provide a note of explanation if your child is absent.

Inform the School if your child is going to be absent, so that we can complete our safety checks without problems.

Attend Open Evenings to discuss your child’s progress, one each term.

Encourage and support your child to complete any homework which has been given, including reading.

Ensure that your child comes to school equipped with the proper P.E. Kit and where necessary pen/pencils for work in the classroom.

Your child will observe the School Rules

I will show care and respect for other children at school.

I will be polite and courteous at all time.

I will not fight or kick anyone.

I will be friendly and helpful to others.

I will not swear, use bad language or be rude.

I will listen quietly and work without distracting others.

I will walk around school quietly and not run.

I will try to work hard and always do my best.

I will take care of the school environment.

I will learn to care about my school and all the people who work there.
