Company History

So where was your Millennium Falcon built?

Not in a space-shipyard in “A Galaxy Far Far Away” as a Star Wars™ fan might imagine, but more prosaically in a plastics factory in the West Midlands.

Aldridge Plastics was incorporated in October 1968 as Park Lane Plastics (Aldridge) Ltd. Production commenced on the Monday 3rd February 1969.

The company has been a major employer in Aldridge for many years. In the 1970s the company was well known for the part it played in the manufacture of Action Man and his accessories followed by the Hungry Hippo Game and later the Star Wars toys.

Today Aldridge Plastics main customers include the world’s leading castor manufacturer, international automotive companies, and the makers of well known brands of domestic appliances. Aldridge Plastics manufacture components from the interiors and exteriors of washing machines to cars, a large range of wheels, and a variety of products for other industries. The company’s vast knowledge acquired over many years in thermoplastic technology and processing has ensured continuing demand for its capabilities and expertise.
